SlimSAS 8i SFF-8654 is a high-density serial attached SCSI (SAS) connector designed for connecting up to eight SAS or SATA drives in a server or storage system. It features a small form factor with a pitch of 0.6mm, allowing for a higher number of connectors to be placed in a smaller space. The connector supports data transfer rates of up to 24 Gbps per lane, with a total of 96 Gbps for all eight lanes. It also supports hot-plugging and hot-swap capabilities, allowing for easy replacement of failed drives without system downtime.
